Bayern got back to winning ways in the Bundesliga, and when it comes to transfers, much of the talk came around Harry Kane, having signed a contract with Bayern Munich the previous summer. Despite being one of the world’s best talents, silverware had previously escaped him, making the move to Germany for exactly that reason.
Xabi Alonso ensured it stayed that way last term, but with 26 goals this season, the former Spurs man aided Bayern back to the top of the tree, with the help of some high profile signings this season too.
In fact, across the Bundesliga it was a good season for transfers, with some exciting players arriving at several teams. A lot of them young talents, it was make or break for many, and the former it often turned out to be.

But which players provided the best value for money in season one for their clubs? Mighty Tips’ football expert Kate Richardson delves into the most successful transfers of the season…
- Michael Olise – €53m (Crystal Palace to Bayern Munich)
Bayern have done well out of Premier League teams in recent seasons, turning to Crystal Palace in summer 2025 for 23-year-old winger Michael Olise in a deal worth €53 million.
At the time Max Eberl, Bayern’s board member for sport said: “Michael Olise is a player who can make the difference and attracted great interest with his style of play. We want new impetus in our team, new energy, new ideas – that’s what players like Michael Olise stand for.”
And he certainly showed that. With a lot to live up to as the season’s most expensive signing, the Frenchman secured over 30 goals and assists for the campaign and was a vital part of the club’s return to being Bundesliga champions.
Many are expecting him to go from strength-to-strength and really help secure the club’s stranglehold on the Bundesliga for many years to come. Bookies are even placing them among the favourites for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, and he’ll play a big part in that.
Bayern are up there with Real Madrid and Manchester City according to MelBet, and are well worth a punt with them. Among the pros and cons of the brand includes the wide range of odds offered, and Olise to score or assist is one bet to look out for over the coming weeks and months!
- Hugo Ekitike – €16.5m (PSG to Eintracht Frankfurt)
Despite only signing for Frankfurt in the summer for around €16.5 million in a loan made permanent, such has been Hugo Ekitike’s season that he’s already being linked with a big move elsewhere. Chelsea are linked with an estimated £84 million move for the 22-year-old attacker.
However, Fabrizio Romano believes it could be something that drags out a little, recently stating on the Here We Go Podcast: “Chelsea are not going to pay that money. So, Ekitike remains a player appreciated, a player in the list but Chelsea are not paying 100 million euros at the moment, then what happens later in the window I don’t know but at the moment this deal is in standby, is not close and my understanding is for Club World Cup impossible in terms of timing because at the moment they are not even advancing in a negotiation.”
He’s considered one of the best young strikers on the planet and formed an impressive partnership with the now departed Omar Marmoush during the first half of the season. That continued for him into the second half, helping them finish third in the league, ahead of Borussia Dortmund, and reaching the Quarter Final of the Europa League.
- Serhou Guirassy – €18m (Stuttgart to Borussia Dortmund)
Arriving at Dortmund for just €18 million, Serhou Guirassy had already secured his status as a serious bagsman in the division having netted 28 goals in as many games for Bundesliga club Stuttgart last season.
It was an equally impressive term this time out for Die Schwarzgelben, smashing in 34 goals in all competitions and is continuing his rise as, perhaps, one of the world’s most underrated strikers.
Aged 29, there are rumours he could be making a move permanent transfer move again this summer, and an impressive Club World Cup could see teams from elsewhere look to trigger his €70 million release clause.
- Aleix Garcia – €18 million (Girona to Bayer Leverkusen)
Arriving in the summer transfer window from Girona, 27-year-old Aleix Garcia slotted into Xabi Alonso’s way of playing nicely at Bayer Leverkusen and became a key cog in the side.
With a wealth of creativity and the ability to dictate and control the tempo of a game, he’s proven a real asset, despite it taking a little time to settle in. As this Leverkusen team starts to disassemble, following the departure of Alonso, and Florian Wirtz to Liverpool, Garcia could prove to be an even more important part of the team next term, although he has also shown an openness to follow his now former manager over to the Santiago Bernabeu.
- Tim Kleindienst – €7m (Heidenheim to Borussia Monchengladbach)
The rise of Tim Kleindienst has been pretty astronomical. Only arriving in the top flight last season with promoted Heidenheim, he helped the club secure a staggering eighth place before drawing the attention of Borussia Monchengladbach.
Signing for just €7 million, the forward, who has also scored four goals in six games for the national team this season, improved on his goal tally this season netting a goal every other game.
Aged 29, there’s still a good few seasons left in the six-foot-four-inch striker, although his campaign this season was tarred with a serious injury that could see him miss the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
Another summer of activity: What next?
After fine seasons, some of the league’s stars of the season are already potentially on the move, and it’ll be another summer of Bundesliga transfer activity and certainly one to keep an eye out for. It’s fair to say that the likes of Michael Olise will kick on at Bayern, but stays could well be short and sweet for Hugo Ekitike and Serhou Guirassy after impressive first seasons.
The Club World Cup will make for even more exciting transfer business across the globe and the fun and games are already beginning. Hold on to your hat…
