Köln target Aaron Zehnter and Jakub Kaminski

Having just appointed their new head coach for the coming Bundesliga campaign, FC Köln are now setting their sights on two new transfer targets. Paderborn left back/winger Aaron Zehnter may soon be following Lukas Kwasniok to the cathedral city. The left-hand-side may receive a further boost in the form of Wolfsburg winger/fullback Jakub Kaminski.

Florian Plettenberg and the Kölner Express are the sources of the Zehnter rumors. The 20-year-old appears destined for a move up to the German top flight next season in any case. Werder Bremen, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and Mainz 05 also have reported interest. The former Augsburg academy man maintains an estimated market worth of €5m.

Patrick Berger claims that Kaminski is on the Effzeh shortlist. The 20-times-capped Poland international – who can also play on the right-hand-side – brings with him the experience of 70 Bundesliga fixtures. The €5m-valued professional netted four top flight goals for die Wölfe during the 2022/23 campaign, but has not scored since.

Köln clearly need to upgrade on the left-hand-side. Former St. Pauli captain Leart Paqarada did well for the Effzeh in the 2. Bundesliga last season, but struggled during the 2023/24 campaign with Köln in the top flight. Die Geißöcke are known to wish to offload Max Finkgräfe during the current transfer period.
