GGFN Awards 2024/25 | The Nominees

The enthralling 2024/25 Bundesliga season is coming to an end. We’ve seen Bayern Munich reclaim their crown from Bayer Leverkusen, a breathtaking race to qualify for Europe’s competitions next season, as well as an interesting relegation battle with some monstrous team and player performances throughout the season. As such, it’s time for the annual Get German Football News Awards.

As has always been the case, the outcome will be decided by a mixture of you, the public, who will receive a 50% share of the vote and members of the GGFN team, who have nominated the individuals within the categories below. These will determine the winners of this year’s GGFN awards which include Player of the Season, Coach of the Season, and much more, including the finest player in each position.

In goal, no player from Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund or Bayer Leverkusen have been nominated with some excellent year-long performances by those from teams battling it out for a place in next season’s European competitions with notable displays from Finn Dahmen (Augsburg) and Robin Zentner (Mainz).

Defensively, Dominik Kohr (Mainz) and Nathaniel Brown (Eintracht Frankfurt) have been standout performers while Jens Stage (Werder Bremen) and Kaishū Sano (Mainz) have been solid in midfield throughout the entire campaign. In attacking positions, there are notable mentions for Paul Nebel (Mainz), Ritsu Doan (Freiburg) and Hugo Ekitike (Eintracht Frankfurt).
