Fenerbahçe show interest in signing Leon Goretzka

With less than 12 months remaining on his current deal, Leon Goretzka’s future at Bayern Munich remains uncertain.

Bild’s ‘Bayern Insider’ podcast reports that Fenerbahçe are considering a move for the Germany international in January which – if the 30-year-old doesn’t sign a contract extension – is the last opportunity that the Rekordmeister can generate any revenue from a sale of the central-midfielder.

Although there are discussions, with a reported salary of €17m, a contract extension beyond 2026 is currently out of the question. Fenerbahçe’s interest in Goretzka is also attributed with the recent appointment of Domenico Tedesco, who coached the 65 time Germany international during their time together at Schalke.

However, given that Bayern’s squad is currently one of the smallest in the Bundesliga, it’s unlikely that Germany’s record champions would allow Goretzka to leave in the summer. The central-midfielder has started five of Bayern’s six Bundesliga games this season, but is yet to complete a full 90 minutes.
