As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Eintracht Frankfurt are closing in on the signing of SC Freiburg’s Ritsu Doan.
The Japanese international has a verbal agreement with Frankfurt and is willing to sign a contract that will keep him at his new employer until 2030.
Frankfurt and Freiburg are currently in negotiations to seal the deal. Freiburg a demanding a fee that exceeds €20m.
The 27-year-old has been a mainstay in the Freiburg line-up since joining the club in 2022 from Dutch side PSV. In fact, the winger has only missed four Bundesliga games since his arrival.
During that time, his scoring record has always increased, finishing last season on 10 goals and a further seven assists in the league.
As per TransferMarkt, Doan has a current transfer market value of €25m, which would roughly be in line with what Freiburg are demanding for him.
Doan will be Frankfurt’s third signing of the summer, following Jonathan Burkardt from Mainz and Rasmus Kristensen from Leeds United.
