Sport Bild reports that a significant goalkeeper shuffle involving two Bundesliga clubs will take place. Eintracht Frankfurt No. 1 Kevin Trapp is headed to Paris FC on a €1m deal. As a result, Werder Bremen starter Michael Zetterer will move to the RheinMain metropolis to take Trapp’s place. Zetterer will cost Eintracht €4.5m and sign a contract valid until 2029.
As confirmed by their respective head coaches, both keepers will start in net for their respective Bundesliga clubs in the DFB Pokal this weekend. Zetterer is slated to serve as the starter in Bremen’s opening round cup fixture away at Arminia Bielefeld this very evening. After that, Zetterer will travel south for his Eintracht medical.
Interestingly enough, the two clubs are scheduled to face each other in next week’s opening Bundesliga matchday. Zetterer should be between the sticks to face his soon-to-be former team next Saturday afternoon. Zetterer will be squaring off agains his training camp challenger Mio Backhaus.
