Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund could look to bench Serhou Guirassy in their next game on Saturday against 1.FC Köln.
Just before the recent international break, Guirassy picked up a thigh injury, which he has been dealing with since, and this has affected his form. In the past six games, the 29-year-old has only scored one goal in all competitions.
With the improvement of Fabio Silva, who joined from Wolves in the summer, Guirassy could be given a rest against Köln.
The Portuguese striker scored against Copenhagen in Dortmund’s 4-2 win on Tuesday night.
Dortmund’s attacking options:
If Silva starts on Saturday, this will be his first start for die Schwarzgelben since moving from the Premier League for €25m.
However, the 23-year-old is not the only attacking option that Niko Kovac can choose from. As Maximilian Beier can also play as a striker, which could open the door for Carney Chukwuemeka or Jobe Bellingham to play further forward.
