Ruhr Nachrichten reports that Borussia Dortmund duo Serhou Guirassy and Ramy Bensebaini will not be reporting for international duty this week.
Neither will travel to Guinea or Algeria, with both teams set to play friendlies during this break after the completion of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Guinea are set to play friendlies against Togo and Niger, while Algeria will face Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia.
A much-needed rest for the Dortmund duo:
Guirassy is the player who will benefit most from this two-week break. The striker picked up a small injury during the October break and has looked a shadow of his former self since.
In Dortmund’s 1-1 draw with Hamburg at the weekend, the 29-year-old only managed two touches in the HSV box in the full 90 minutes. Far too little for a striker the quality of Guirassy.
While a rest for Bensebaini, as well as the recent return of Emre Can, means Algeria could be played as a backup for Daniel Svesson, who has played a lot of football in recent weeks.
