The loan arrangement set to send Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe from Eintracht Frankfurt to AS Monaco fell apart last week after calf issues were revealed during the player’s medical, causing the Ligue 1 outfit to cancel the deal. Eintracht trainer Dino Toppmöller commented on the matter for the first time yesterday during his pre-match press conference.
Toppmöller acknowledged that the 24-year-old might still be on the move before the transfer deadline closes. The midfielder’s calf problems are known not to necessarily be so grave that they prevent a move. Monaco took time to reconsider via a second medical.
“If Junior continues to be a Frankfurt player on Monday, all doors will always be open to him,” Toppmöller noted. ”I’ve always said that I like the boy and that he has qualities that can help us.”
Ebimbe’s desire to leave is common knowledge. Both Eintracht head-coach Dino Toppmöller and SGE board-member-for-sport Markus Krösche are on record stating that they are happy to allow the player to depart.
“We have a lot of competition for his position,” Krösche remarked earlier this month. “He’s not playing because there are other players better at the position. He wants more playing time and that’s clear.”
