Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Alassane Plea set to join PSV Eindhoven

Sky Germany reports that Alassane Plea is set to leave Borussia Mönchengladbach and move to PSV Eindhoven immediately.

The 32-year-old has already said goodbye to his teammates at Borussia Park and will have his medical at the club soon. Kicker reports that the fee will be around €4m.

Plea joined Gladbach in 2018 for what is still a club record fee of €23m, and it was reported that he had a release clause in his contract which expired at the end of last month. Plea is now in the last year of his contract.

With die Fohlen, the forward played 236 times, scoring 68 and assisting 53. Last season was one of Plea’s best at Gladbach, scoring 11 and assisting six in 30 Bundesliga games, making him the club’s second highest scorer behind Tim Kleindienst.

Gladbach will now need to invest in their attack this summer, as away from Tomas Cvancara, there is very little depth behind the injured Tim Kleindienst.
