Bayern Munich plan fresh loans for Lovro Zvonarek and Nestory Irankunda

Bundesliga record champions Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing fresh loans for two prospects. Croatian online portal index.hr reports that 20-year-old midfielder Lovro Zvonarek may be on the move to NK Osijek. Sky Germany, meanwhile, claims that the German giants will spend the summer trying to find a club at which to park Australian phenom Nestory Irankunda.

Zvonarek made his Bundesliga debut under Thomas Tuchel last year. Tuchel famously handed the 20-year-old a start against VfL Wolfsburg on matchday 33. In just his fourth Bundesliga appearance, Zvonarek scored a memorable goal four minutes after kickoff. Three days later, the Croatian youth international was awarded a professional contract with the senior side.

Zvonarek spent the season on loan at SK Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga. Another loan deal is in the cards after Zvonarek scored one goal in 19 appearances across all competitions for the Austrian champions. Zvonarek appears set to follow his fellow Croatian youth international Gabriel Vidovic to the Hrvatska nogometna liga.

The case of Irankunda isn’t quite as concrete. There’s been some talk of the five-times-capped Socceroo receiving a chance to prove himself with Bayern at the coming club World Cup, but the 19-year-old is not among one of the two loan players officially recalled by the FCB for the tournament yet.

Irankunda did score a goal and contribute three assists whilst on a short-term loan with Grasshopper Zürich in Switzerland this year. Additionally, the former Adelaide United man scored four goals and provided four assists for the FCB reserves during the first half of the season.

Bayern apparently wish to continue to take it slowly with the Aussie. Irankunda is yet to make a senior team appearance. There’s no word yet on where the Tanzanian-born talent might be headed.
