Bundesliga duo Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have qualified for the Round of 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup. Kicker has since put together a report of the prize money Germany’s representatives will receive.
In addition to the €28.9m entry fee, Bayern Munich will receive €3.4m for their two group stage wins, and another €6.5m for qualifying for the last 16. That means the Rekordmeister can already expect €38.8m in prize money. Should Bayern reach the quarter-final, they will receive a further €11.3m. The semi-final would earn them €18.1m and reaching the final will bring in €25.8m. The winners of the Club World Cup would receive €34.4m.
But Borussia Dortmund’s payout is a little different. Because of the different entry fees for UEFA representatives, they earn a slightly lower starting fee of €23m. Although they earned slightly more in bonuses (€4.3m) than their Bundesliga rivals, and with their Round of 16 bonus, they have so far earned €33.8m.
