kicker reports that Bayer Leverkusen are seriously considering the signing of Liverpool centre-back Jarell Quansah this summer.
Leverkusen need a replacement for Jonathan Tah, who has moved to Bayern Munich on a free transfer this summer.
Quansah is unhappy with his playing time at Liverpool, where he is seen as a backup to Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate. The problem is the price as the England-u21 will cost in excess of €30m and Liverpool could raise the price if Quansah performs well at the EUROs and there is an increase in interest from the Premier League, this will then make a deal difficult for die Werkself.
AC Milan’s Malick Thiaw and Sevilla’s Loic Badé are also under consideration at the BayArena. Leverkusen have already been active when it comes to the future of their defence after signing Axel Tape from PSG.
However, the holdup in the transfer of Florian Wirtz to Liverpool has likely resulted in Leverkusen’s delay of investing in starters in other areas of their squad. Now that the Wirtz transfer begins to reach its conclusion, die Werkself can look to improve their squad.
