Angeliño is set to return to RB Leipzig following a season-long loan at TSG Hoffenheim, according to Kicker.
Hoffenheim had the opportunity to buy the Spanish full-back for €20m but believe that the price is too high. The club had a turbulent season as they filtered with relegation despite making a number of impressive loan deals on paper.
The 26-year-old featured heavily in Hoffenheim’s season playing all but one Bundesliga game. During this time, the Spanish international contributed 10 assists.
For now, the future is uncertain for Angeliño. It’s up to Leipzig head coach Marco Rose whether the full-back has a future in Saxony. A seasoned player with Champions League experience, Angeliño could provide good competition for the likes of Marcel Halstenberg and Mohamed Simakan.
On the other hand, should Leipzig receive an offer of around €20m, they could be tempted to sell and use the money to reinvest into the squad.
