Sacha Tavolieri reports that Werder Bremen have reached a verbal agreement with Juventus winger Samuel Mbangula.
The 21-year-old has already agreed to a five-year contract with the Bundesliga side. Both Brentford and Strasbourg have also shown interest.
Bremen are now in negotiations with Juventus over a transfer fee for Mbangula and have already had a €8m bid rejected by the Italians. Juventus are hoping for a fee of €10-12m.
Mbangula played 32 times for Juventus last season, scoring four and assisting five. The 21-year-old was also included in their Club World Cup squad, but did not feature.
After a so far quiet summer, Bremen have begun to back head coach Horst Steffen. Bremen currently only made one signing in this window, after bringing Maximilian Wöber in on loan from Leeds United.
If Mbangula does join Bremen this summer, he will be the club’s second biggest signing ever behind Davy Klaassen, who joined from Everton for €13.5m in 2018 and ahead of Marko Marin, who moved to Bremen from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2009 for €8.2m.
