Bild reports that VfB Stuttgart could look to raise the price for Nick Woltemade amid his strong U21 Euros campaign.
Stuttgart had initially set an asking price of €60m for Woltemade this summer; however, due to very heavy interest from Bayern Munich and the 23-year-old’s performances at the Euros, the price could be raised.
Woltemade has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Bayern over a transfer this summer, but Stuttgart are adamant that he is not for sale, with Sporting Director Fabian Wohlgemuth commenting:
“The fact that this development hasn’t gone unnoticed by others and that we now read about interest from other clubs almost every day doesn’t change the fact that Nick’s journey with us is far from over.”
“We are firmly planning with Nick and want to benefit from his athletic qualities in the coming year as well. There is no alternative planning scenario for this.”
Internally, people at Stuttgart are considering raising the asking price for Woltemade to €80m. The current asking price of €60m is still too much for Bayern, and raising it would make negotiations very difficult between the two teams.
Negotiations between the two teams are set to begin after the U21 Euros, where Woltemade has played a starring role in Germany’s run to the final, where they will play England on Saturday in Bratislava.
