Sunderland and Bournemouth join race for Bayer Leverkusen’s Amine Adli

Kicker reports that Sunderland have joined the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacker Amine Adli. Bournemouth are also listed as an interested party while Wolves are also known to have expressed interest in the Bundesliga professional.

The trio of Premier League clubs face stiff competition in the form of Olympique Marseille, who are looking to obtain the 25-year-old on loan with a purchase option. Adli has contacts at the Ligue 1 outfit and will presumably prefer a flexible deal that enables him to keep his future open.

Should the Premier League clubs wish to purchase Adli outright, Kicker reports that the price tag is €30m. Sunderland might have the upper hand against Bournemouth and Wolves as the Black Cats can offer Adli a chance to play alongside his former teammate Granit Xhaka.

In an interview earlier this summer, Adli noted that the great exodus of Leverkusen players this left him missing many of his “friends”. Adli also expressed his desire to play on the right-hand-side of attack, a wish that now seems more unlikely after Leverkusen confirm the signing of Ernest Poku.

A €30m transfer fee remains feasible for most any Premier League side. It is such that many signs are pointing to an Adli departure from Germany’s red company team this summer.
