Sébastien Haller could have a future at Borussia Dortmund

Bild report that Sébastien Haller could yet have a future at Borussia Dortmund.

If no offers materialise for Haller – who joined for €31.5m from Ajax but fell ill with testicular cancer not long after – then it’s likely that the Ivorian will act as back-up to Serhou Guirassy, with Lars Ricken and Sebastian Kehl foregoing a decision to sign a striker.

According to Bild, Haller maintains an excellent fitness level having continued to work hard during the FIFA Club World Cup, while Niko Kovač believes he can get the 31-year-old back in shape. In the season where the Bundesliga title race went down to the final day, Haller scored nine goals and provided five assists in 19 league games.

Kovač and Haller have a good relationship. During the Ivorian’s time under Kovač at Eintracht Frankfurt, Haller scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 36 appearances across all competitions for the Hessen club.
