Predicted Germany U21 XI vs England U21: Nick Woltemade to start

Germany will look to win their third UEFA European U21 Championship in five tournaments when they play Lee Carsley’s England in Bratislava on Saturday night. Antonio Di Salvo is expected to make two changes from the team that beat France 3-0 to secure their fourth final since 2017 with Tim Oermann and Brajan Gruda coming in for Max Rosenfelder and Ansgar Knauff.

Nick Woltemade – the tournament’s top scorer with six goals – will retain his place alongside Nelson Weiper, who opened the scoring against France. The duo combined well and proved problematic for the French defence, and Di Salvo will be hoping that they continue their form against an England team whom they’ve already beat in this year’s edition.

Oermann replaced Freiburg’s Rosenfelder after 30 minutes against France, and the Bayer Leverkusen defender should start with Germany taking a precautionary measure with the latter.
