Official | Dino Toppmöller extends contract at Eintracht Frankfurt until 2028

Eintracht Frankfurt has announced that head coach Dino Toppmöller has extended his contract at the club until 2028.

Toppmöller replaced Oliver Glasner as head coach in 2023 and, since then, has led Frankfurt on a steady path of development. His new contract is said not to contain a pay rise, and instead, he wants the money to be focused on improved recruitment in the summer.

This season, he has led the youngest team in the Bundesliga to the verge of Champions League qualification; all they have to do is avoid losing to Freiburg on the final day of the season. Frankfurt even had a run in the Europa League, before losing to Tottenham in the quarter-finals.

On extending his contract at Frankfurt, Toppmöller said:

“It’s a matter close to my heart to be here and to stay here. I’m incredibly proud to be the head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt. We’ve made excellent progress this season, and our journey together is far from over. I’m very excited about the future at Eintracht and am convinced that we’ll celebrate many more great successes together. We’ll achieve the next one on Saturday in Freiburg.”

During his time on the banks of the Main river, Toppmöller has also shown that he is good at developing players as well. In attack, he has made Omar Marmoush and Hugo Ekitiké into world-class strikers who had and have attracted interest from across Europe. The same can be said for Hugo Larsson in midfield, while he has also transformed Nathaniel Brown into a left-back who can stake a claim for a place in the German national team.
