Official | Bayern Munich keeper Daniel Peretz moves to Hamburg on loan

Bayern Munich keeper Daniel Peretz’s loan out to Hamburg has been officially confirmed. The Israeli international moves from the newly promoted Bundesliga club on a one year deal. Peretz will compete with longtime Hamburg keeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes for the starting slot between the sticks.

Peretz turned down several potential loan deals during the January 2024 transfer window, preferring to remain with Bayern in hopes of competing for the number one slot. Jonas Urbig’s signing rendered this highly unlikely. Peretz now tries a different tack.

After Matheo’s [Raab’s] departure, it was clear that we still had work to do in goal,” Hamburg board-member-for-sport Stefan Kuntz noted in a club statement.  “Last season already showed how important it is to have a strong group of goalkeepers. We are therefore delighted that Daniel has chosen us.

I can’t wait to get started and then start training with the first team tomorrow,” Peretz himself added. “It’s a great honor for me to be part of this great club. Our ultimate goal is clear: we want to stay in the league. As an absolute team player, I want to do my part and make the fans happy.”

Heuer Fernandes (32)_ brings with him the experience of seven German top flight appearances with Darmstadt during the 2016/17 Bundesliga campaign. Peretz (25) has made four league, one cup, and one Champions League appearance with Bayern.

Peretz also garnered 24 Conference League appearances with his former Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv. Kuntz declared himself very pleased to have brought in a keeper with “extensive international experience“.
