Florian Plettenberg reports that new negotiations between Manchester United and RB Leipzig for the transfer of Benjamin Sesko (22) are scheduled for Thursday morning with the aim of reaching an agreement for the Slovenian forward.
Sesko is at the centre of a tug-of-war battle between Manchester United and Newcastle United and it did look as though the latter were in pole position to sign the attacker, but it’s since emerged that the Leipzig player wants to join Manchester United over their Premier League counterparts.
Newcastle United did submit an opening offer of €75m plus €5m in bonuses which was rejected but returned with an improved bid of €90m including bonuses, which has since been accepted. But with a preference to join Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United, it’s likely that Sesko will hold out for an offer from last season’s 15th placed team.
It was reported that Manchester United were ready to match any offer from NUFC with a departure from Leipzig now imminent, with Sesko already telling teammates that he will be leaving the club.
