Ernest Poku set for Bayer Leverkusen medical on Monday

Bayer Leverkusen are set to complete the signing of Ernest Poku (21) from AZ Alkmaar. Kicker report that the Dutchman is expected in the city on Monday to undergo a medical where he will then sign a four-year contract.

Die Werkself will pay a reported €10m to sign Poku, who featured in Alkmaar’s 4-1 win against Groningen on Sunday. The 21-year-old’s participation is something which grew suspicion as to whether or not the deal would be completed as usually when an agreement is reached, the player won’t play as to avoid picking up a potential injury that sees the transfer fall through. But Kicker further note that Alkmaar are yet to find a replacement, hence Poku’s involvement in the opening weekend of the Eredivisie.

Poku will become the latest attacking player to join Bayer Leverkusen this summer after Malik Tillman (€35m), Ibrahim Maza (€12m), Christian Kofane (€5.25m) and Farid Alfa-Ruprecht (€1.3m).
