Eintracht Frankfurt reach total agreement with Jonathan Burkardt

Bild report that Eintracht Frankfurt have reached a total agreement with Mainz forward Jonathan Burkardt (24) on every aspect of his contract. The Germany international will sign a contract until 2030 and will earn a base salary of €2.5m which can increase significantly through bonus payments.

Eintracht Frankfurt have fought off interest from Bayer Leverkusen to sign Burkardt, who made it known in May of his desire to join the Hessen club, with Mainz also aware of his decision to leave. All that remains now is a payment structure between Frankfurt and Mainz. According to Bild, Burkardt can leave for €20m but the fee will be split between his current club, Burkardt and his agents. Over the coming weeks, SGE will ‘haggle’ with M05 over the exact fee and structure.

Burkardt was the highest-scoring German in Europe’s top five leagues with 18 goals in 29 Bundesliga games last season, a campaign in which he also provided three assists. He also earned his maiden Germany call-up in October 2024 and was awarded his debut by Julian Nagelsmann against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
