As we enter the latter stages of the transfer window, Brentford are readying an offer of €70m including bonuses to Borussia Dortmund for Maximilian Beier (22), according to Bild. A representative of the Premier League club expressed interest to Dortmund on Wednesday.
Brentford also showed interest in Beier when the now Germany international played for Hoffenheim and with the sale of Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United for €75m, Bild note that head coach Keith Andrews sees Baier as a ‘perfect fit for his playing style’.
But Brentford aren’t the only club interested in signing Beier. Aston Villa are also preparing a £30m offer for Beier, significantly less than what Brentford’s proposal would be. And with the pending arrival of Wolves forward Fabio Silva for a fee between €22m and €25m, Borussia Dortmund could also be open to allowing Beier to depart the club after just one season.
Should Dortmund sell Beier for the reported €70m, it would see a significant return on the €28.5m to sign the 22-year-old forward from Hoffenheim in August 2024.
