Bayern Munich line up Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard as potential Luis Diaz alternative

Sport Bild reports that Bayern Munich are monitoring Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard as a potential alternative to Luis Diaz. The Bundesliga record champions presently find themselves in negotiations with Liverpool over Diaz’s purchase, but a deal with the Reds could still fall through over the transfer fee.

This isn’t the first time this summer that Bayern have been linked with an Arsenal professional. The German record champions were reported to have Brazilian international Gabriel Martinelli on their target list a couple of weeks ago. Such rumors have since cooled off.

Trossard would certainly constitute a cheaper alternative to both the above-mentioned players. The Belgian international’s estimated market value presently stands at €22m. Trossard enters the final year of his Gunners contract and has a German agent. Bayern could negotiate an even lower fee.

The 30-year-old Trossard still featured in everything Premier League game for the North Londoners last season, starting on 28 occasions. He scored ten goals and registered ten assists in 56 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions.

Trossard could not only serve on the wing, but work as a ten or short striker behind Harry Kane. Bayern find themselves in need of an attacker to serve behind their lead striker following Jamal Musiala’s horror injury and the unlikelihood that Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade can be procured this summer.
