Sportske novosti reports that Eintracht Frankfurt transfer target Franjo Ivanovic is also on Bayern Munich’s radar. The Croatian daily claims that Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund has always been fond of the Union Saint-Gilloise striker, who can also play on the left wing or as a ten. The Austrian-born Ivanovic possesses Bundesliga roots, having once trained at the FC Augsburg academy.
Such a rumor does make sense given Bayern’s need for assistance on the attacking flanks. Furthermore, should Bayern decide to opt out of the messy and expensive pursuit of Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade, Ivanovic could fill the FCB’s needs in the ten slot caused by Jamal Musiala’s long term injuries.
The fact that Ivanovic once worked at Augsburg and made his professional debut for the FCA reserves might give the German giants something of an upper hand. Ivanovic is thought to be keen on a move to the Bundesliga and might feel right at home in Bavaria.
