Bayern Munich and Nick Woltemade have reached a full verbal agreement on a summer transfer, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Woltemade is under contract with VfB Stuttgart until 2028 but has garnered interest from across Europe this summer as he set the Under-21 European Championship alight.
The 23-year-old striker has scored six goals and provided three assists in four games for Germany under 21s in their run to the final.
Only three players have ever scored more than Woltemade’s 13 under-21 goals for Germany and another goalscoring performance in the final will see the Stuttgart striker secure the Golden Boot as Championship top scorer.
Woltemade will be leading the attack against England and there will be more than a few admirers watching on.
Bayern want Woltemade to sign with immediate effect.
They are offering a long-term contract until 2030 with salary terms already agreed in the last days.
Bayern are moving quickly and their supervisory board have already approved the deal.
However, there have been no negotiations between the clubs yet and VfB want to keep him.
With a reported transfer fee of €50-60 million, it will be hard to say no.
Woltemade only joined Stuttgart on a free from Werder Bremen last season and Stuttgart will want to cash in.
Woltemade is in high demand and another match-winning performance on Saturday will only increase interest.
It may just be a matter of time until Woltemade has the footballing world at his feet.
