BBC reports that Bayer Leverkusen are one of the clubs interested in out-of-favour Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling.
It is said that Leverkusen is one of the European sides monitoring the development of the 30-year-old’s current situation.
The former England international spent last season on loan at Arsenal, where he was rather ineffective, and upon his return to Chelsea this summer, he is not in the plans of manager Enzo Maresca.
The aspect of this deal that would make a move hard to materialise would be Sterling’s large wages. It is very likely that what the 30-year-old currently earns at Chelsea would shatter the wage structure that Leverkusen have, and the type of money he earns could only be offered by Bayern Munich in Germany.
Die Werkself continue to refresh their squad this summer. It has been reported previously that they continue to search for a winger, after missing out on Johan Bakayoko, as well as someone who can play as a number 10.
