Florian Plettenberg reports that Arsenal have submitted an offer to Noni Madueke, who could leave Chelsea in the summer with talks ongoing. The Englishman scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 44 games across all competitions for Enzo Maresca’s side last season but with impending transfers of Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, Madueke will face stiff competition for places at Chelsea next season.
But although Arsenal have submitted an offer to the player, it would appear that it’s just loose interest at the moment. The Gunners continue to monitor the player’s situation at Chelsea, and he remains ‘one of several top profiles Arsenal are assessing for this position,’ per Plettenberg.
On their shortlist is Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, but Arsenal face competition from north London rivals Tottenham to sign the England international. According to The Guardian, Arsenal have held talks with representatives of Eze but Palace remain adamant that a club would have to meet the player’s reported £67.5m clause.
