Borussia Mönchengladbach in negotiations with Eugen Polanski to appoint him as their permanent head coach – Roland Virkus could also make a return

Rheinische Post reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach are in negotiations with Eugen Polanski over making him the permanent head coach.

Polanski replaced Gerardo Seoane as the interim head coach, following the Swiss’ sacking earlier in the season. Despite a poor start to the season, the former midfielder has led Gladbach out of the relegation zone and into 12th with back-to-back wins, including a triumph in the Rhein derby against 1.FC Köln.

Now the club are in negotiations with Polanski’s agent over becoming the permanent successor to Seoane

Roland Virkus is in the running for a Gladbach return:

Bild reports that former sporting director Roland Virkus could return to the club, as his contract at Borussia Park is only suspended, and not officially terminated, after leaving the club earlier this season.

If Virkus does return, he will likely take up a position within the club’s academy. Before replacing Max Eberl in 2022, Virkus held the position of academy manager for 14 years.
