Real Madrid want to sign Timo Werner this summer

Sky Germany report that Spanish giants Real Madrid are very interested in signing RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner and could make a move for him in the summer.

“He is currently being scouted very intensively. As we hear from Spain, it is only a matter of time before Real Madrid contact Werner and also makes an offer,” said Sky correspondent Marc Behrenbeck.

The Germany international is top of Real Madrid’s list of targets with the contract of Karim Benzema expiring in 2021 and bosses not being satisfied with Luka Jovic and Mariano.

Because of Werner’s clause, between €30m-€60m, Real Madrid would not need to negotiate with the Bundesliga club.

Bayern Munich and Liverpool have shown previous interest in signing Werner.
